portabella mushroom gravy

🍴 Ingredients

    pan dripping', 'dry sherry', 'portabella mushroom', 'water', 'cornstarch', 'salt & freshly ground black pepper'

🍳 Directions

remove the turkey from the roasting pan and set aside', 'place the pan and its drippings over medium-low heat', 'stir in the sherry , scraping and deglazing the pan', 'add the mushroom pieces , continuing to stir', 'as the sauce thickens , add the water , a little at a time , continuing to stir for 3 or 4 minutes', 'stir in the cornstarch-water mixture', 'increase the heat to medium and stir until the gravy thickens', 'taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper , if necessary'

this will greatly enhance your holiday turkey! when you cook the turkey, save the drippings for this great gravy! somtimes i add a little milk or cream towards the end of cooking.

heat large saut pan over medium-high heat', 'drizzle olive oil over the mushroom cap', 'season with salt and pepper', 'slice mushroom into 1 / 4 inch strips', 'sear slices 5 minutes , do not move them during this time', 'flip slices over and sear for another 5 minutes', 'meanwhile , toast the bread', 'remove portabella slices and place , along with one slice of provolone cheese , between the sourdough bread slices', 'place sandwich on panini press', 'enjoy !'

💬 Reviews (Evelyn, this was another winner!! We just loved this stir fry even though we are partial to Thai flavors over Chinese type dishes. Easy, quick and best of all it used up some pork loin I had in the freezer. There are very few stir frys to which I don't doctor up in the end to suit our taste, and I have to say we didn't add a thing to this one. Served this with brown rice for a delicious and healthy SBD friendly meal. Thanks, we will make this again for sure!)

place 5 quarts of water in a large pot', 'bring to a boil and add salt if desired', 'add pasta and cook for 8-12 minutes', 'in a second large pot , heat olive oil', 'add red onion and stir until lightly caramelized', 'add garlic and cook for one minute , being careful not to burn it', 'add mushrooms and cook until they are cooked down and softened', 'add marinara and basil', 'let the flavors cook together for 10 minutes', 'when pasta finishes cooking , drain well , reserving a few tablespoons of the pasta water', 'add pasta and small amount of pasta water to sauce', 'garnish with coarsely chopped or whole leaf basil', 'mangia !'

I've probably made close to 100 different stir-fries since then, yet this is still in my top 5 favorites. Simple and fun to make, yet very flavorful. Very ideal for beginners. I always serve it over Japanese rice.)

in skillet put 1 / 4 diced canadian bacon cook til crispy', 'rinse mushrooms remove stem set it aside using a spoon remove gills careful not to break edges giving it a crater shape', 'melt two tbs of butter put one tbs in each cap of mushroom', 'then add 2 tbs of pizza sauce to each mushroom cap', 'add 3 tbs of rotel to each cap', 'add 1 / 4 cup of cheese to each cap', 'then add as much diced canadian bacon or pepperoni as u like', 'take stems and slice add as topping', 'put remaining butter in flat pan cook in oven on about 325-350 deg', pizza's for 15-20 min until tender]
