- rolled oats', 'rye flour', 'flour', 'baking powder', 'salt', 'brown sugar', 'butter', 'eggs', 'nuts'

mix oats , flours , baking powder and salt in a bowl', 'whip butter and sugar together until creamy , add eggs and blend throughly', 'blend with oats and fold almost all nuts under but save some for decorating', 'put little amounts of dough on a baking tray , i use 2 teaspoons to do so', 'decorate with remaining nuts', 'press down and bake at 330 for 10 to 15 minutes', 'let them cool down on a a baking rack'

i found this recipe in a magazine i got in a pharmacy in örebro, sweden called apoteket. i reminds me of our great holiday me and dh had in summer 2009.
note: you can use 1 cup chopped walnuts only or use a mixture of other nuts and/or seeds. i also like pumpkin seeds or sunflourseeds or a combination.
note#2: you can substitute butter and eggs by 1 cup of whey and a dash of milk for a super healthy but though delightful version.

preheat oven to 325 degrees', 'grease a baking sheet well and set aside', 'place all dry ingredients in blender or food processor and blend until they are consistency of cornmeal', 'stop to stir ingredients if they stick', 'stir in milk', 'use a frosting knife or rubber spatula to spread batter thinly and evenly on the well-greased baking sheet', 'place in preheated 325 degree oven and bake slowly until delicately golden , about 15-20 minutes after about 10 mins , use a sharp knife to score the dough in squares , rectangles or desired shape', 'watch them carefully , if the crackers on the outside brown faster , remove them and continue to bake the rest', 'crackers are the crispest while they are baking , so loosen them from baking sheet as soon as they come out of the oven to keep them from crumbling'

this is a light buttery cookie that i enjoy. i belive the recipe originated from the book favorite homemade cookies and candies. they can be a little messy when forming into balls, but i think they're worth it.

i got this recipe from a co-worker. it's not so overly sweet like some fruit pizza's are that use the pre-made sugar cookie dough for the crust. very good tasting. i usually make the crust the day before and keep it covered with saran wrap;
💬 Reviews (Being a native San Diegan, of course I couldn't resist trying this one. And it proved worth the effort. We like our bread with a crust that requires a hacksaw to cut, so I set the machine for French bread and dark crust. Very good, indeed!)

melt the butter and stir in the mixed nuts , grated carrot , grated cheese , oats , herbs and beaten egg - mix well', 'season with salt and pepper to taste and mix well', 'spoon in to a greased and lined 11 x 7 cake or baking tray', 'press down to smooth and bake in a pre-heated oven 180c / 350f / gas mark 4 for 25-30 minutes , or until golden brown', 'allow to cool in the tin and then mark into bars or squares', 'store in an airtight tin or container for up to 1 week'

not really oat cuisine - haute cuisine - but i could not resist the title! these cheesy and nutty oat flapjacks are very tasty and easy to make; a savoury take on the usual sweet flapjack recipe which normally contains syrup, honey, sugar and fruit. great for lunch box snacks as well as picnics or as an accompaniment to soups, stews and chili. try to use a good quality mature cheddar cheese for that essential cheesy zing! i have stated porridge oats, however these flapjacks are also wonderful when made with jumbo oats - which are a bit more expensive. to achieve a full flavour, it is essential to use both type of nuts; the peanuts give the flapjacks the savoury and almost salty flavour, whilst the pecans or walnuts give a subtle taste, texture and nutty bite to these little cheese, nut and oat bars! if you like your food with a bit of a kick, you can add some cayenne pepper, as i often do!
