👩 description

this recipe will make two pans of the most delicious flaky buttery shortbread and may i add these travel well for shipping ;-) --- using a food processor insures that you will have a very tender flaky cookie, plus they take only minutes to make, these may be made up to 2 weeks in advance and store at room temperature in an airtight container, but they won't last that long lol! and they only get better with time! if you are using unsalted butter then increase the salt to 1/4 teaspoon --- make certain to slice the cookies while it is still warm and then cool completely --- while the baked cookie dough is still warm you can cut into small shapes or circles if desired --- you will *love* these!

💬 Reviews (This was so good! Great way to use up those Easter leftovers. I made it early in the day, and my hubby threw it together after baseball practice while I was out. Yummy!)

i make these buns on a regular basis they have remained a family-favorite over the years --- if you choose not to brush the tops with any butter another idea is after the second rise before baking mix 1 egg white with 1 tsp cold water and carefully brush the buns with egg wash mixture then sprinkle with sesame seeds :)

💬 Reviews (What a great way to have egg salad! I've never thought to put ham in it and then grill it. I made it for my mom and I for lunch this afternoon and we both loved it. Neither of us, however, could taste the swiss cheese at all, so I'll probably just leave it out next time.)

this recipe goes back over 20 years and i still make it, my family loves this and i often serve this with kielbasa sausage that i slice and lightly brown first then add into the skillet along with the noodles, any smoked dry sausage will do, it's just as delicious without the sausage:)

💬 Reviews (Hearty and delicious, as well as packed with vitamins! :) This was easy to make, and the flavor is fabulous...the cilantro really makes the dish. I accidentally added too much salt, so I remedied by serving over unsalted steamed rice, which was really good, actually! :) I used canned beans instead of raw (400g/16oz), but still let it cook the full two hours. I really liked this one, Donna! Thanks! :))

👩 description

this is a recipe i developed years back, it's a great alternative to cabbage rolls but takes much less time to make and has all the flavour, to speed up the cooking time a little i always give the cabbage a quick saute firsty --- you will *love* this!

💬 Reviews (Awesome recipe! We use this for our crepes now. we found it easier to let the batter sit for 20 min. before cooking, and to let the first side sit a little longer than a minute. we love this recipe!!)

👩 description

this is my own recipe that i have made for over 25 years, i have made these for weddings, socials and large get togethers and everyone loves them --- i have two large cabbage listed as you will need extra cabbage leaves to line the bottom and top of the pan to prevent the rolls from over browning which may happen during the long cooking time --- cooked rice will also be fine for this and if you like lots of rice you may increase amount --- make certain that the heads of cabbage are frozen then completely thawed before starting this recipe, this will allow for easy removal of the leaves, allow the frozen cabbage heads thaw at room temperature overnight in bowls --- to save some time i most always remove the cabbage leaves a day ahead and refrigerate in a bowl and you may even prepare the ground beef mixture a day ahead so the following day just mix the sauce roll and cook --- for these cabbage rolls i do not precook the ground beef it will cook thoroughly in the oven --- i have listed the sauerkraut as optional if you are a sauerkraut-lover then add it in i most always do it really adds extra flavor to the cabbage and you may use more than 1/2 cup if desired --- the amounts listed will fill a 13 x 9-inch pan very full or even better so you do not over crowd the rolls a larger pan may be used or use two pans and freeze one for another meal, just thaw overnight in the fridge then allow to sit at room temperature for about 2 hours then cook as stated --- if you like lots of sauce then you may double amounts but i would suggest to make it in a larger baking pan if you are doubling the sauce.

💬 Reviews (This is a great little recipe! I had it on salad, but I was thinking it would be great with pork sausage patties and potatoes and fried onions, or soft polenta. I put some fennel seed with my seasoning, used walnut oil, and produced a pretty earthy flavored sauce that would go well with a deep flavor, like sausage. Very, very good!)
