in a small skillet , heat the oil over medium heat', 'saute the garlic , caraway , cumin , paprika , harissa , and sugar until fragrant , about 2 minutes', 'remove from heat', 'add lemon juice and stir', 'pour over the carrots , add the herbs , and mix', 'add more harissa if needed', 'let sit for 1 hour , then add the feta and pine nuts if using', 'serve'

🍳 Directions
in a large dutch oven or saucepan , saute onions in vegetable oil for 5 to 10 minutes , or until translucent', 'add the potatoes , cumin , and fennel', 'cook for 1 minute', 'add the hot water', 'cover , turn up the heat and bring to a boil', 'add the cauliflower and bouillon cubes and return to a boil', 'lower the heat and simmer , covered , for 10 minutes or until the vetetables are tender', 'in a blender , puree and vegetable / broth mixture until smooth', 'add lemon juice , salt , and pepper to taste', 'reheat the soup , being careful not to scorch it', 'serve warm', 'garnish with chopped tomatoes and chives'

I am on the quest for the perfect buckwheat pancakes and these are the best I've tried so far- I substituted the egg whites with one whole egg, subbed canola oil for the melted butter and used whole wheat pastry flour for the all-purpose. I actually skimped a little on the flour because since its whole wheat, it has more protein and is more absorbant, so I usually use 2/3-3/4 cup for every cup called for of white flour. With this I had to use just about the full amount to make the batter thick enough! So, the first couple where I scrimped on flour were flatter, but after I got the consistancy right, they were fluffy, tender and delightful! Thanks for posting.)

I think next time I would like to either add more buckwheat flour or try the whole wheat flour, as I felt the flavor was just slightly lacking. (I would really like to give 4 1/2 stars.))

in a large sauce pan , add olive oil and saute onions until caramelized on low heat for about 8-10 minutes stirring frequently', 'add cumin and sugar and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes stirring on low', 'cut chicken pieces into bite sized pieces', 'add stock , chickpeas , raisins , saffron , cinnamon , chicken and bring to a light boil , then cover , reduce to simmer and cook for 30 minutes stirring frequently', 'meanwhile , pre-heat the oven at 350 degrees f', 'line a jelly roll pan with baking parchment paper , toast the almonds with the clarified butter drizzled over them for about 10-15 minutes in a 350 degree f oven and set aside', 'stir couscous into boiling water , remove from heat and cover tightly , let stand for 8 minutes', 'uncover and fluff with a fork', 'serve with couscous on bottom , then chicken mixture and top with toasted almonds', 'enjoy !'

I sprinkled oats on the top of the batter right after I poured the batter on the griddle. I have some leftover pancakes that I'll freeze and enjoy as a breakfast treat this week. Thanks!!)

💬 Reviews (These were nice, but even though I used whole wheat pastry flour I felt there was something lacking in the flavor. These were good, but not as good as pancakes I've made with a mix from the health food store, so I'm giving 4 stars even though they were really quite tasty.)
