🍴 Ingredients
- salmon fillets', 'sugar', 'coarse salt', 'white peppercorns', 'dill', 'dill sauce'
🍳 Directions
remove any small bones from the fillets with a pair of tweezers or needle-nosed pliers', 'mix the sugar , salt and pepper in a bowl', 'cover the bottom of a baking dish with 1 / 3 the dill and rub half of the sugar-salt mixture into the first fillet , on both sides , and lay it skin side down on top of the dill', 'cover with 1 / 3 of dill', 'prepare the other salmon fillet in the same way , and cover with the remaining fillet , skin side up , with the remaining dill on top', 'cover in plastic wrap , place a cutting board with some heavy weights on top and marinate in the refrigerator for 24 hours', 'remove from plastic wrap and discard accumulated juices', 'rewrap and refrigerate another 24- 48 hours', 'scrape off the marinade and slice paper thin', 'serve with mustard dill sauce'

💬 Reviews (A delicious meal! "Props" go to the creator! I substituted hams steaks (which I cubed myself) for sausage, as the hubs doesn't like sausage that much. I fried the ham in apple cider vinegar and molasses for about 15 minutes, but made sure that the extra juices didn't get into the potatoes, as I didn't want it to come out too sweet. The only thing I would change about the recipe was that it came out a bit too rich and cheesy. So next time: LESS VELVEETA, BUTTER, and possibly ADD SAUTEED ONION. This is staying in my recipe box! :))

this is nigella lawson's version of gravlax, which is slightly different from those already posted here. i made this for the first time for our christmas eve buffet last year and five of us devoured it by the end of the night! cooking time is the 2-3 days of sitting time in fridge.
💬 Reviews (Made as written, very good, but, OMG! A thousand calories a bite! I used Eckrich smoked sausage, and I didn't remove the skin as it is very soft (and difficult to remove.) I also just par boiled the potatoes. Next time, I'll also leave the potato skins on. A delicious winter "cold comfort" food. As usual, I'll tweak this one a little (add some vegetables.) 💬 Reviews (After reading that the recipe made a lot of sauce, I reduced the ingredients by 25%. I added a full teaspoon salt, a little garlic salt, and a good pinch of dry mustard to it as well. I didn't measure my potato cubes, so I may have had a little more than stated. After topping with the shredded cheese, I sprinkled about 1/3 cup buttered Panko crumbs over the top before baking. Overall, it was a good casserole, but I will use a different smoked sausage next time..Echrich tastes like bologna to me.)
