my great grandmother up in iowa made the best snickerdoodles ever. and we found the handwritten recipe the other day. they were always the most fun cookies to make growing up, and the the yummiest cookies. .this is a simple recipe.. do not substitute the shortning.. that is what makes the best cookie.

💬 Reviews (This was very easy to make with good results. I was out of red pepper so I added some green peas but otherwise stuck to the recipe. Thanks for the recipe)

💬 Reviews (Very good dish. A bit too spicey for me, but my husband raved. Next time I'll cut back on the cajun spice and serve my husband a bottle of hot sauce on the side. :) A big thanks to Shawn C for posting.)

i always loved my mother's vegetable beef soup and enjoy making it myself. the only change i've had to make is to use beef shank or stew meat in place of the soup bone that she always used. it still tastes the same!! mom passed away in 2006. my niece and her husband recently had a baby girl that they named after mom. i made a pot of this soup to take to them and printed out a copy of the recipe for them. i'm posting it here so as not to lose it and for anyone who would enjoy a hearty, filling soup.

💬 Reviews (A very tasty and easy recipe. Only issue with this is it had a tad too much Cajun seasoning, or more it was too salty. I plan to use this over and over. Just plan to cut the seasoning. This could also be an issue with the seasoning I used and not the recipe.)

my mother has made this dressing for our family since i was a little girl. it is the only thanksgiving dressing my family will eat. i would weigh 500 pounds if i made this dressing as often as i craved it! although i know most people prefer holiday recipes that have been passed down in their own families, i hope you will enjoy this thanksgiving dressing recipe that the mcwell's have enjoyed for many, many years! my mother used jiffy corn bread mix in the old days, then later switched to marie calender's corn bread mix. in this recipe, i am using the sweet corn muffins recipe on a box of albers yellow corn meal. because i am using albers brand corn meal, all ingredients up to 12 tbs butter are for this particular brand cornmeal. if using any other cornbread mix, follow directions on the box, then add ingredients beginning with 1 lb bacon. this recipe is for thanksgiving so it makes quite a large amount. thanks mom!

💬 Reviews (Due to diet restrictions I used cauliflower rice for my base. But I used this recipe to create the dish. Since the cauliflower was basically cooked I just used 3/4 cup of chicken broth instead of the water. Also only used 1 1/2 tablespoons of seasoning. Family said it was magnificent. Thank you for helping me out)
